FREE IDEAS TO NOURISH YOURSELF!

Updated: Jul 1, 2023

Hi Friend,

Have you heard of the tea-pot analogy?

You can't give to others if you are feeling empty yourself

But what if we flip that thought and reframe it to we need to nourish ourselves and fill our own cup SO we can be there for others?

Or as Harry Styles puts it - Fill yourself up and let others fall in love with the overflow!

If you are feeling tired, overwhelmed, understimulated, overstimulated, or rundown how are you going to fulfill your own responsibilities and be there for the ones that need you?

- Nourishing our Body makes us physically feel better and ready to tackle tasks ahead.

- Nourishing your Mind can help calm an overactive mind and unblock any sense of feeling stuck.

- Nourishing your inner-self can open up floodgates of gratitude which in turn will boost mood and regain awareness of how you can be of service to others and in turn get to know yourself.

Here are some free and inexpensive ways to get short and sweet little tea-pot refills into your week.

IDEAS TO NOURISH YOUR BODY
  • Go for a walk

  • Get barefoot outside on different textures such as grass, wood, dirt, or even pebbles if you can handle it

  • Drink water first thing in the morning (only add lemon if you prefer the taste, please don't believe the hype that it levels out Ph levels!)

  • Simply MOVE YOUR BODY in a way you enjoy for 5 minutes, some stretches, yoga, Animal Flow, a dance party for 1...

  • Hang, literally! From an overhead bar or something that can support your body weight, it will help decompress the spine, increase grip strength and improve shoulder health.

IDEAS TO NOURISH YOUR MIND
  • Listen to an interview with someone you admire

  • Watch a different genre of movie than your usual go to

  • Read/listen something for fun

  • Learn a new skill

  • Plan a short getaway or your next vacation

  • Catch up with a friend

  • Hang with those that inspire and encourage you

IDEAS TO NOURISH YOUR INNER SELF (SOUL)
  • Play with your pet (or someone else's)

  • Meditate for 5min (now I am not one who finds sitting still easy at all, I found this quick 21 day guided meditation very helpful to start a new morning habit)

  • Smile at a stranger

  • Praise someone you admire and tell them why they inspire you

  • Give someone who needs it a random note of encouragement

  • Write down 3-5 things you are grateful for each day

  • Give yourself a large goal that seems a little scary to start

The more we know ourselves the more we can realize what we need to recharge and re-energize, to give us the full capacity to tackle life's demands.

I'd love to hear how you recharge and fill your teapot.

Until next week stay sassy.

Nikki
