ANIMAL FLOW®?

Created by Mike Fitch, technically speaking it is a ground-based movement discipline designed to activate, strengthen and move your joints through their full range of motion. 

A 6 element movement program to improve strength, mobility, coordination, power, and endurance.

For a visual think if yoga and breakdancing had a lovechild!

For myself and many others, it's a form of movement meditation, creative outlet and a source of movement that can be done anywhere with purely just your body.

Animal Flow   is a ground-based bodyweight movement discipline. You will learn how to reconnect with your body to improve strength, control, power, flexibility, and mobility. Which in turn leaves you to unleash your inner beast!

WHY LEARN ANIMAL FLOW?

Do you feel disconnected from your body? 

Do you go through your regular workouts, not really sure what you should be feeling?

 

For many, we don’t become conscious of what our bodies are experiencing until that experience is pain. We aren’t mindful of how our bodies are feeling until it’s too late. 

 

With traditional approaches to fitness, there is a large emphasis on equipment and external implements, which is a contributing factor to this disconnect. 

 

With Animal Flow, a unique bodyweight training discipline, I will invite you back into your own body again. Together, we will help you rediscover what it feels like to be truly connected with your physical body. 

 

Through ground-based movement, and challenging yourself to move in new and novel ways, you will build strength, coordination, and a better understanding of how your body likes to move. 

6 COMPONENTS OF ANIMAL FLOW

01 WRIST MOBILISATIONS - Simple moves to strengthen and improve wrist mobility, to prepare the wrists for the time we spend on our hands in this type of practice.
02 ACTIVATIONS
Static holds used to activate our bodies via the ground contact with our hands and feet. Eg Static Beast, Static Crab.
03 FORM SPECIFIC STRETCHES
Starting in an animal form you will move through your full range of motion across various joints, to increase mobility and flexibility. Eg Ape Reach, Beast Reach, Crab Reach and Scorpion Reach.
04 TRAVELLING FORMS 
Here is where you will learn the ABC's of Ape, Beast and Crab. Travelling forms are full body strength and conditioning moves that get you across the floor.
05 SWITCHES AND TRANSITIONS
The breakdancing feel!  This is where we learn to transition from one move to the other creating that seemless flow feel.
06 FLOW SEQUENCES 
Where your imagination and creativity become endless depending on what your goal is. Here is where we put all of the above together and you can create a seamless movement sequence to challenge the whole body and mind.
