HOW TO MOVE WHEN YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT

Updated: Jul 30, 2022

Hi Friend,

How are you trucking through the wet, cold days that have been upon us?

I'll admit, with selling my apartment and getting documents sorted to start rental applications with a deadline looming, the body is feeling run down.

The motivation to move and lift heavy is not high right now.

This can leave me feeling like a fraud at times, being at Jungle Brothers each day I am surrounded by young and motivated coaches getting in their sets and reps and making gains.

It's easy to go down a rabbit hole of negative thoughts.

What I am realizing is simply at this time I have different priorities that are taking my attention. I'm slowing things down as mentally I am drained, and that's totally ok!

It's a win if I can get out for a walk or simply 20-30min of Animal Flow drills and practice.

Life can throw curve balls, we are never going to be in balance 100% of the time. The main thing to realize is to assess is this a short-term scenario. I realize mine is so it's ok.

If there are external factors affecting your sleep, nutrition, and mental health and there is no end to it in sight then it may be time to start assessing what you can start to change. Any movement is better than no movement. Our bodies need to move to feel nourished.

As coaches we are not superheroes, we are simply human and sometimes our motivation is low too.

This week I'm sharing an article about finding the motivation to move, written from coaches perspective when they are lacking the same thing too.

I'm curious, what inspires you to move? Comment Below

Until next week

Cheers,

Nikk
